7 pointsEventually got my worktop folded and fitted. Just stuck it on with CT1 silicone. Got a shelf up and another under the work bench so i could keep the place looking tidy. Also made a bar to hold my grinders.

1 pointWell I'm afraid I've been hiding something from you all for about 5 months, I have busy re creating a rare if not singular example of a Ransomes ITW. Its taken a lot of hard work and to be honest I'm glad it's finished apart from completing the snagging list. The original is believed to be a one off, prototype machine which pictures are all that's left (as below) The likelihood of me coming across an ITW let alone buy one was very low, then even if i did find a genuine one I would have found it hard to cut it up to make it into the replica, so I started with a donor MG6... Here Jonathan is loading it with the help of a winch tractor to bring it back up for me from Hereford. I mainly made it for the Ransomes display at Malvern in February. Everybody has there own opinion of replica machines and cars and sometimes they are not appreciated the same but hopefully this one will because as far as we know it is been lost to us all and re creating it is a good thing....... I do have a video but not worked out how to upload it yet... To give you some idea of the engineering involved... the main shafts which hold the wheels are 90mm bright bar and the parts which hold the sprockets are 190mm! The engine came separately from a nice guy in Peterbourgh who kindly took a large hit to sell it to me from what he paid! Hope you like it.......

Project Horse Gut....Nigel and Ians joint project
pmackellow reacted to Ian for a post in a topic
Thanks James, yeah this project is flying a bit now.. It might of even been done by now had we not had engine troubles.. A bit more progress.. That's what you call deep pitting! The deep pitting belongs to this part, the top bit of the chassis?/part the steering is welded to.. It must have a name but I've no idea what it is..! Just out of shot on the right we had to let in some new metal as it had rusted away.. I guess the correct way to fix all the rust pitting would be to cut it out and weld in fresh metal, the trouble is we would of have to replace about 85% of the panel! So after killing off all the rust on went the dreaded bondo/filler!! I hate the stuff! That looks way better Engine painted, still have the tins to do which will be sprayed at the same time as the bodywork. The Dynostart getting a coat of red.. We are currently working on the fender pan and bonnet/hood.. It's a lot of work to get them looking good but worth it -
1 pointLit a fire in the stove to burn off the yellow paint. Finally all finished with hot plate installed. Just needs a coat of high heat black paint to tidy it up.
