I went up to a friends place on Saturday not 20 miles from here to collect a set of rear wheel weights and while i was there i saw the little tractor they came off. It was hiding in a dark container looking all forlorn to be losing part of its rearend so a deal was struck and it was loaded in my van. Its in good condition and will enjoy its new home with the Horses. Heres a few photos for you to look at and i need a new coil if anyone has one.

Managed to make a bit more progress today, sorry for the poor quality photos, as I only had my phone with me.

He wouldn't take it out of the van at home. Can't think why.

Having seen it today in the flesh, or metal, I can say that it is in very good condition. Chris did say though that he was going to start collecting Bolens so that they don't all end up in Norfolk.

Nice Bolens! Great find. Be sure to update any progress but, looks great as-is. Had a couple tube frame Bolens years ago. I couldn't ever get over the cast steering column.

Another update on this one....... I needed to refit the clamp to secure the rotor cover to the drive tube, make a support bracket from the fuel tank down to the air cleaner and then make a new throttle cable. I also ordered some 4mm rubber sheet to make the soil/stone deflector...... Also wanted to say it runs too!!! Not exactly sure what I did, but I just went through everything again from the seals, to the timing, to the carb...... All seemed fine though, so when I added fuel again, and pulled the starter I wondered if it would ever start......? But it did on the 3rd pull..... Here's a little video of it running And here's a photo of the almost finished machine..... I say almost, It's decided to leak a small amount of oil from the seal around the shaft with the blades on, new ones will be collected tomorrow!

a Bolens 600 That's a great find Chris and with wheel weights too Yes wheels should be white and I think yours was gold at one time if you look closely at the photo of the rear axle. I can't make out the serial # but that will confirm date etc. Enjoy!

Good call. After we went indoors to warm up we realised we should have put some ropes from the steering to the sleigh. Next time maybe. It's not often that the old geezer is allowed to drive these days . We are working on a brief video about the 61RAM atm while we are waitnig for parts to arrive from America.

Now that is very nice Chris. That is mutch better than my 50 shades & rust I have with my 2 You can see how small they are. I have a mower deck for one of mine The wheels should be white I think That looks like Johns gaff?

I agree Chris. I am not qualified to comment on original paint colors but if it was mine the steering wheel would be black...... Or at least it would be after I had my greasy dirty hands all over it for a while......

That's exactly how I found it, the hood has been repainted at some point, I'm just going to get some decals and leave as is, I think the wheels should be white but will wait for one of the Bolens boys to tell me the correct colours

That's quite a nice find and a Bolens as well and with wheel weights........ Was it that clean when you loaded it up or have you been busy with the soap and water.

    AN OLD RESTORATION

I have found a later photo of the tractor! After googling "1954 BMB President" one of the pictures led me eventually to VPG 581. Looking at this picture deepened my thoughts as I recognised the location & exhibit number sheet to be the Cuckoo Fayre held in May at Laughton near Lewes, West Sussex. Another google search "1954 BMB President Cuckoo Fayre" shows it (on my computer) as the 2nd photo. Possibly a SEVAC member now owns it? Photo taken May 2011

Great video Joseph. Who that old geezer driving your RAM towards the end of the video? Whoever, he is, you better show him how to treat your tractor with respect! Looking forward to more videos from you guys
