I'm not so sure it's from the carb, I think it maybe from the starter (part 131 on the diagram below), but it depends on the exact measurement & thickness, I can't tell from your picture if it is flat or not either. Here are a couple of pictures of this part (listed as crankshaft thrust disk) which often falls out & is often missing too as a result, I did measure one earlier but have been distracted since & have forgotten, will check it again tomorrow. David

Electric start. Sometimes the e start machines would have a recoil unit as well but on later higher horsepower machines the recoil was absent to allow for ducted cooling.

This is really interesting, thanks for posting. I wonder what the difference is between the W8E and 11E from the normally W8 and 11 models?

That Horse has turned out to be quite an able machine!

Impressive work Ewan. A hood with that many holes would usually finish up in the skip.

Your working wonders with that hood Ewan, ive got two in a similar condition so i'm watching with interest.

Had a couple of spare hours today so I've done it bit more. everything just about done and all up and running, I've moved it backwards and forwards in the shed , next job to get it out and try it round the garden.
