    Smart. I don't think so.

Returning home from R.P.T. and Biddenden, due to the A1 being closed for some reason, I had to use the M1 and M6. Mile after mile of roadworks and 50mph limits. All this work is for the so called Smart Motorways. What's smart about doing away with the hard shoulder? How many people will be killed and injured when they have nowhere to go, if experiencing a breakdown, puncture etc? I think it's down right stupid and dangerous, if not criminal.

    Biddenden tractorfest 2018

Well all back at home now After a smashing weekend, we had a gigantic turnout of exhibits of over 263 exhibits to mark the 25th anniversary of the VHGMC !!! Great to see new exhibitors , some new to tractorfest and some first time exhibitors, and of course our regular exhibitors from as far as Belgium, Cumbria, stoke on Trent Norfolk, and devon all adding to the count . 38 entries to the arena with a children's special. I would like to thank all exhibitors who attended as this would be impossible to acheive with out your efforts. I would like to give an extra thanks to Phil Murrell who managed to bring 85 Exhibits from his collection. A special thanks to Ethan Castle for setting up the howard theme that had a quite impressive line up. Tomorrow is the start of planning towards next year event which will feature dashwood/landmaster for th 17th and 18th of August 2019. Once again many thanks to all for your support in making biddenden tractorfest the great show that it is, hope to see you all next year

It is possible that your 850 does not have any cut-out switches. If it does it will be a single switch located under the battery tray and you will need to remove the tray (two fixings on each side) to get to it. The solenoid is not easy to get to and is located behind the side panel. One of your pictures shows one of the fixings holding the solenoid, the second is located about 2" to the right. Fixing highlighted in this picture If you need to replace the solenoid you will need to carefully select one as most are too deep to fit. You often see Bolens with this panel bent out in order to fit a replacement solenoid.

Seats off and can’t see a switch Norm . I’ve not looked at the points yet just wanted to see if I could get it to spin over . I did look for a YouTube video but couldn’t see one . 191 01

Been having a little look about and found a few pictures of what’s left on there and the bonnet I have don’t seem to have been cut all the rolled over part and shape looks original. I may be very wrong though ? I’m going to hop out to the car and grab the replacement in a mo and see if it unscrews at the muffler . The jump pack is charging and I’m hoping to see if I get any life out of it tonight 😊

    A DAY AT THE SHOWMANS.

If you think that the yellow wire is the kill, check it out . With the ignition OFF you should have continuity to Earth . With it ON , it should be open circuit. When you say "wont start" do you mean totally dead or "cranks but wont run" ? The danger is that if you’ve got things wrong it’s possible that you may have put voltage through the ignition coil and cooked it, so the first thing to do is to isolate the engine. Disconnect all wires other than the heavy one from the solenoid to the starter motor and crank it over but be prepared to pull the plug lead off to stop it. If it starts it at least shows that you have a runner and can relax and sort out the stopping! I will dig out a wireing diagram but normally the kill wire will go to a terminal on the throttle plate and will have a loop terminal under a nut. The 8 hp lump may have a single charging wire with a “ tubular” connector or a dual circuit alternator with two wires and a double pin connector that can only be fitted one way round. EDIT added https://www.dropbox.com/s/lgchle1pohn1r1z/Lawnflite 504 wireing diag0001.pdf?dl=0 Yes, the yellow is shown as the kill wire. As well as going to the kill terminal on the ignition switch It is also connected to a couple of safety switches which will also prevent the engine from firing unless in the safe position.

    Rural past times

A little damp on arrival Thursday afternoon. Cleared up though and the weekend turned out ok. The stand line up. More on the Sunday. The Showman holding court. Can't remember this lads name, but I think he's related to Alan. As the ground was so hard, we went to play in the potato patch Not get many chips out of these. Iain demonstrating the Norfolk version of Bottoms Up. Chris rotavating Big boys and big toys. If you'd taken those glasses off like I told you, this wouldn't have happened. Nothing like a bit of organ music. Charge! And finally!

    Vintage Oil Can

Thanks gents, It was a challenge to clean and sweat the leaking joint areas without 'wicking out' the original solder, plus someone's previous attempts. I'm impressed with how efficient it is at producing a single drop or a greater volume into the most awkward of Lathe points (even works upside down without leaking). They're not common and worth a few quid now, but I won't part with it-

    TROJAN 'TORAKTOR' Mk1 - STOLEN

Good to meet all of you at Biddenden Tractor Fest today and apologies to anyone I missed. Too much time spent talking and I didn't leave until 7:30pm with a sore throat! I didn't realise how many other people had also found themselves suffering at the hands of thieves. It seems that nothing is sacred these days! Doesn't matter what it is some bugger will take it away from you if they get the chance. Anyway I met some very interesting people and handed out fifty of my leaflets so let's hope that my tractor will turn up sometime. Regards to all, TCS.

I’ve just put Carlisle super lugs on the rear of the horse and Duro on the front . I expect it will set me back a little but will be worth it 👍
