    McCulloch MiniMac 1 Automatic

Its a circa 1972 McCulloch MiniMac 1 Automatic and at 2.95 kg, I know it wont be felling any trees, but it might make a good limbing saw. It seems the fuel line is toast and if I can get it running I will spring for a new chain and spark plug. It was free, so it was for me, I have a sucker, er buyer, that is interested, lol

    Ransomes MG40 and HR4 discs

Earlier this week I set about getting my HR4 discs dug out ready to use with my MG40. The cover that had been over them had come off and they were looking a little green thanks to the surrounding trees. Put the turbo nozzle on the power washer and they soon cleaned up. I'll put some photos up in the Show Pics section of the show I took the MG40 and discs to.

    HALF a HORSE.

One of the few pieces of metal which was not found as scrap was the grill and headlamp surround. Nothing of suitable thickness to hand but the Showman came to the rescue and obtained some cut to width alloy from a contact of his. Thanks Chris. A jig was made up from a thick sheet of board and coach bolts. Allowance was made when fitting these bolts for the thickness of the metal, either side and top and bottom, so that the correct outside width and height was obtained. The alloy strip was clamped to the bolts and bent around in stages. Two of the lower bolts not yet fitted in the photo's. The front chassis cross member was made up from various metal and alloy pieces all bolted together and in turn to the chassis. As the front mounting bolts of the grill passed into a box section with no way of fitting nuts, a length of 1/4" stud was used instead which passed through the total width of the chassis leaving enough either side for nuts and washers. Cannot find photo's of this assembly at this stage.

This is a small company producing motorcycles but offers its engine as as standalone unit ready to run. How about one of these in your Mini's or whatever else you can think of (a light weight boy racer) ! Check them out https://motusmotorcycles.com/americanv4 Expensive...YES around $15000 for a crate engine and bikes are $36,000-40,000 U.S. I think , but listen to that American 180HP , pushrod , E.F.I. , V4 engine . Music to my ears . I believe it has a 9 inch bolt circle on the flywheel end to make adapting to almost any transmission easy . Wonder if they ever thought about running the Isle of Man TT ? It already holds the record for fastest production bike at the Utah Salt flats !

With rural past times happening, I relised I didn't have any thing to take , so I had this little tractor hanging about so I found an engine of the shelf for it and gave it a quick tidy up , it should be ready just foot plates and a few bits and bobs to do I don't think I will be doing any ploughing with it though

Great little Chainsaw. Look's like you have one of the early versions, as I believe that is a 1/4" pitch Chain on it. Introduced in 1970. Could not find stats on an Auto Oil Feed version, but this link may show up a lot of similarities and info if you sell it on- McCulloch If you keep it, may find it difficult to obtain a 1/4" pitch Saw Chain, but you may have luck in converting it to 3/8" (economically) like I did with my 71 Beaird-Poulan XXV. They changed over to 3/8" later on in '72'- ish on yours. Nice find, I would keep it .

Good set of photos Paul thanks for posting them. It was a bit disappointing, out of 15 booked in only 12 bothered to turn up !!!. at least all the 12 that turned up were all different and I think all the exhibitors had a good time. Thanks to the dedicated few that supported me and the show
