Nope! Mine is also a Creme Lure but for some reason thought it was a Nichols. It does have the DC connections and good plastic without warping in it. Maybe there's also a Nichols out there? Never spent any time on this since it was bought except pulling out the old batteries. My O&R stuff has been neglected for far too long. Here's some pics of it 6 and 12v connections Has this little red plastic knob on the carb needle adjustment screw Not sure what or why this hole was made in the handle. The top was ground to be flat for which I would assume would be for a nut to rest flat. ??

Very nice example and you have the bonus of the original cardboard box. ! Many that we see have the fuel tank bowed out from fuel being stored in them. Something with the cheap plastic? Hard to find a nice one but they do appear once in a while

We had a Japanese TAS version of one and we ran the c#@& out of that thing. No helmets, flip flops and shorts on. Modified the friction pulley to make it bigger and therefore faster. I was probably about 10 years old with 2 older brothers. They used to make me the crash dummy for mini bikes and go karts to see if our modifications worked or not. Ah, the good old days

The old school type hardware stores are your friend when it comes to stuff like this. Rummage through all those old little drawers. Also look for the little carb ball bearings while your at it. So much easier to just replace those when you have a bag full that cost about $2. I haven't had the chance to look around yet and probably this weekend if need be.

I can check around for some old/broken carb bodies to see if any are still there.

You probably don't need to buy a manual if you just copy all the stuff David posts! LoL

Man, David is good! Bet if you poked around some you could find a replacement pump, make a handle going by the pics David provided and get another display tool out of it when you have a spare running engine. $0.02

Just can't imagine being a service tech for these engines back in the day and dealing with them everyday. It can get frustrating at times but it's different when it's for the enjoyment or for yourself and you can walk away and get back to it if needed. Is this saw the only O&R tool you have ? Send me a PM with your address for a diaphragm or two

Glad you found us again Chris. The good news is your spring does not appear twisted as in it will still sit flat. Use a torch to heat the ends and re-shape them to look like the pic David posted. Only heat the area you need to bend as heating it removes the spring in the spring steel. Use a set of needle nose pliers. You have absolutely nothing to loose since the spring is worthless and can't be used like it is now anyway. Repairing recoils can be frustrating but once you get that spring to hook on the places they go again, you're half way there. JUST make sure you have the spring and the rope coiled the correct direction or it's start all over. Did that a couple of times.

It was on Epay as a "buy it now" for $85. Came from a seller in Waltham MA and that guy has been listing O&R stuff on there for a while. Need to get him to join the forum as it appears he has or had a bunch of stuff.

Jim, usedtoolman had made some of those spark plug covers using Plasti Dip. It's for rubber coating tool handles and available in black. He may have done a thread on the old forum about it and they came out very nice

Bought this as a bunch of pieces but it has all the important stuff like the gearbox with the pulley, the little V-belt, correct gas tank, ect. ect. Really just missing the engine, hardware and couple of small pieces. The locked up gearbox is soaking now but it seems like it's just the grease is hard as a rock. It should free up. It came in dirty but was easy to clean since it was already apart. Paint isn't too bad on this one. I have a couple of spare yellow Mustang chainsaws to use for donor parts, engine and the hardware. Missed out on a couple of these over the years and they don't seem to come up for sale as often so was happy to finally get one for the collection.

I think the Tecumseh engine coils might be the same ones. The recoils can be a challenge but they do get easier the more of them you do.
