White stuff....
Ian and one other reacted to meadowfield for a post in a topic
Since we are all missing it here in the UK, thought I'd post of few pics from the other year where I live. We get some good cold snaps, -13c is the coldest, with the kitchen down at 7c. Pretty well everything freezes, no where like the US recently though Last pic will show you how I get around -

My B-80 errrr B-120?
TITCH and one other reacted to bowtiebutler956 for a post in a topic
Well, I thought I'd post a couple pics of my B-80, that has been repowered with a Kohler K301 12hp. This has been my mower for about 10yrs now. It was missing its original engine when I got it, so I repowered it with a well worn K301 years ago, and worked it like a dog for many years. It finally came to the point it was burning more oil than gasoline, and the tractor had surface rust all over it, so I decided to give it a refresh. I rebuilt the engine, as well as anything else that needed some love. Its been almost 3 years since it was refreshed, and its still my full time mower of choice, although I use some of the other tractors occasionally. It doesn't look quite this nice anymore, but it still runs like new. Matt -

Tonite I thought I would add a few pictures to this of my son and I plowing with almost matching 1963 Suburbans. His tractor is only 100 or so numbers higher than mine, and had the engine replaced with an 8hp, up from the original 5.75 Briggs. I have found the correct engine for it now, but haven't gotten around to installing it yet. He is pulling a 6" plow and the one with the cool factory duals I driving is using an 8" one. -

Pond, the walker

This story get better, as through the RS site I found a second tractor with 4 more attachments, which were the riding sulky, a front blade, a cultivator, and the all important item...........a plow!! I had a show coming up in less than 30 days, so after a 500ml round trip up to Michigan, I brought back a pickup load. This tractor had the wrong engine, and again the tires were bad, but it had already been mostly restored, and just needed the missing parts replaced and some clean up. The attachments on the other hand were untouched, so I decided to do the plow and the riding sulky. The sulky proved to be the biggest challenge, as parts of it were missing, and had to be fab'ed up from nothing more than a photo of an original. I didn't take many pictures of this work, but do have a few still and one or two from its first showing:: These two tractor are the model PT-20, which used the 2hp Briggs model 6. You could get a bigger model 8 engine(along with other brands) with the PT-25, but tires on those units were 16" instead of the 12" ones of the smaller unit. I have not currently redone the blade or the cultivator, but am hoping to find one of the larger hp tractors and their larger wheels to go with. Maybe if I get really lucky I could find one of the deluxe models that came with a hood similar to the RJ rider series. -

We are moving soon and hope I can relocate these one way or another. I feel a large 4WD Ford tractor coming along to assist! -
1 pointAnother hobby of mine is collecting these cool little O&R gas powered tools and engines. Most were manufactured here in the USA but there are plenty of others that were made in the UK and other countries. Here's a Bridges Mini-Mota Drill that I had shipped in from the UK. You move the chuck to different spots on the gearbox to change the rpm. Not sure why anything would need to be drilled at 6300 rpm, but it's there if you want to.

Big tractors
jamesie reacted to meadowfield for a post in a topic
As some of you might have guessed, I like big wheels and tractors. Here's a few of my favourites from last years Newby Hall show - this years venue for the UK wheel horse round up my dad is is one of the shots - if you thought you recognised him... -
1 pointJust thought I'd attempt to post a picture of half my Suburban riding tractors, by DB from 59-65. I have a fairly large collection of these, and they are my main power in the garden and around the yard. I have 11 of the 22 different models built during the early period, and most of the attachments.

Bigger tractor power, but old
amcrules00 reacted to Lauber1 for a post in a topic
Just so every one doesnt think I only have garden tractors, I'll provide you with some pic's of tractors here not commonly seen. I do after all live in the middle of a large corn field, so some larger power is needed once in a while. Here is my 1959 Case 601-B, a 50hp diesel, with an 8 speed trans, not many of these made. The second machine is a 1961 M&M model M-5, which has a 60hp gas engine, a 5 speed trans with a torque amp. This tractor will go over 30mph on the road, which is plenty fast for a narrow front. I don't know much about the history of the Case's past, but the Minni belonged to one of two old bachelor farmers, who past on, and his brother never used it for 13yrs. It was only used with a 5 bottom plow, when it was used and has only 1100hrs on it. -

Wheel Horse Raider 10.
amcrules00 reacted to Charlie Smith for a post in a topic
I have a few different toys/machines/tractors now but I must say my love is still with my little old wheel horse! I've had my horse a while now, it's been worked hard but mainly it just gets driven for fun, when I first joined the RedSquare wheel horse forum, my horse lead to some confusion, as it's a 1970 model raider 10, yet surrey county council road registered it with the registration APF 197H on the 22nd of October 1969. I have all the paper work with this and now a tipping trailer and a snow plough! (Typical) the year I buy a snow plough we get no snow! Aha still waiting, -

That is an amazing machine you have there, and the PTO driven trailer is awesome! I know of one guy by the name of Will, who has one here in the U.S., but he went thru a bunch of work to get it here. The Germans shure do know how to properly equip a garden tractor! Very Nice!!! Matt -

Webb cylinder mower turns into a Trike!
amcrules00 reacted to Ian for a post in a topic
With some chopping and changing a new slightly bigger engine was fitted into the Webb frame.. A Kawasaki Z200 engine with custom 1 into 2 exhaust that flowed into two Harley end cans which Garry turned up with one day A view from the back, Atco fuel tank and a pedal to take care of gear shifting.. A Webb with a 5 speed box don't you know As I had the rest of the bike the engine came from I thought I might as well fit the headlamp and indicators just for the laugh and to see the look on peoples faces The Z200 dash installed.. The rebuild after painting the frame. A new tow behind seat thingy was built. Here's the bare frame.. By this point in the build I had picked up a second Kawasaki Z200 for spares, which came in handy Wanting driver comfort a custom independent suspension was built. Here's Garry with a Z200 swing arm that was turned into a wishbone thingy. A view from underneath.. The nearly finished rear end... Independent suspension, Z200 front wheels with cable operated disc brakes, and a rear light cover I made from some computer case panels.. The Z200 speedo was relocated to next to the seat so I could connect it to the speedo drive on the right side wheel. The rear brakes were operated by this lever just in front of the seat.. The grass box getting a flame job.. Ta Daa..... I never did get round to fitting a good seat to it I still had hair back in those days Top speed was about 30mph which is as about as fast as you would want to go down a gravel track still on the Webb's original steel roller!! So how did it turn into a trike?? Your going to have to wait until later to see that part, got things I need to get done this morning.. To be Continued.... I'm sure the original engine was a Briggs of some sort.. All this happened a very long time ago, so the brain cell's are straining a bit to remember -
