My new decals showed up today! There is nothing that adds the finishing touches like new stickers. My new plug wire came in as well. After installing new points, and condensor, she has a nice blue spark jumping across the plug. I ordered the new ID tag from the same people I ordered my valves from, so no doubt it will still be a few days before it arrives. Here are a couple pics. Matt

    Been Wheelhorse Picking Again

Had a chance to unload this today and get it in the workshop on the bench, first job was to charge the battery and put some fuel in the tank, the wiring is all been butchered so had to hotwire it she spun over and fired up, no smoke and no rattle's, there seems to be an issue with the gearstick where as the stick is all floppy and have a job to get any gears,i'll have to investigate that next week

Had to many other things going on today, so I didn't get to play with the LB, but I did throw the valve cover back on for a couple beauty shots. Matt

This is a vintage agricultural weekend held at Pestalozzi village in Sedlescombe Sussex ( tn33 0uf ). I've been going to this show since it started a few years ago and last year i was asked to take over the Horticultural section,it was very short notice and didn't have time to promote it. This year I'm looking for exhibitors to support me with this show. I've secured a good spot in the middle of the site and there will be a working area that is useable all day, there will be an arena display on both days so whatever you want to do with your machine nows your chance, This is a working weekend so whatever your interest its there, there will be plenty of stalls and a silent auction as well as live music, beer tent and plenty of food. There's free camping on a nice flat field just a short walk away. So come and have a fun weekend if you want to work your machine or just chill out, this will be a good show with your support, pm me for an entry form NOW

    Farmers Boy Minorette Rotavator?

Hello All, I don't visit this section of the forum as much as I do some of the others, but It appears now I can contribute, I now own a 'Pedestrian Operated Machine' This morning I went to Ardingly Collective Sale to have a look about, It's the first time I've ever been and I'm pleased I did. I saw Chris and Paul a few times throughout the day, I'm not too sure if they managed to get anything, there was a wheel horse commando 7 up for auction but I don't know if either of them two got it or not... I'm sure they will tell us soon enough! I managed to get my self another small project, Its only what I can assume to be a Farmers Boy Minorette I've done a little research and it seems to match the ones I have been finding, If anybody knows anything or has any information on these machines, it would be greatly appreciated if you could share it with me I only paid £21.80 £1.80 of that was buyers premium etc, so I was chuffed that I can now grow my collection get this restored and have it as a show piece, and maybe even work it from time to time... Its nice to have something different from ride on's all the time,

    Brinly culttivators, two for one

I have acquired over 1,000 manuals on .pdf files, the hardest ones to get are the implement manuals. I still don't have a manual on the SS-500 drag harrow. There were two pieces that came with the SS-500 that I don't have, a serpentine piece that elevates a hook up for another implement and the tab to keep the diamond shape from changing when dragging the implement, that piece I have made, I'll make the other piece shortly.

Thanks for the attached files; fascinating to read about the various implements available. I doubt if we could get half of them over here in the UK. I would like to get one of the company's sales brochures for my growing literature collection.

Nice photo's Mark.. It didn't get as dark down south and the clouds managed to hide just about all the action, but here's a photo of what little could be seen.

    Project "Why Not"

Thanks Norm. Thanks Iain, yes it is a bit tight behind the front wheels... A parachute may be something to think about at some point Thanks Andrew I wish I had more of an update for you all, but it's been a busy week dealing with a "not so" Merry Tiller!! But I have managed to get some of the steering done.. Starting with bolting on one of these Wheel Horse steering thingys.. My brain is not with it enough to work out what the correct name for it is! The other end need to be connected to this Bolens rotovator 90 degree box... Sorry Chris, I've decided to use it now. As it happened not only was this wheel center (cut from WN's front wheel) a perfect fit over the bar that's part of the steering thingy.. But once cleaned up on the lathe it was also a perfect fit on the 90 degree drive box thingy The only problem was it looked like this! So the next day I made another one! The bottom one looks a lot better 90 degree box thingy bolted in place.. The steering UJ thingy goes up to a shaft, which... Goes through this bearing and out through the top of the dash.. Sorry about the bad photo's.. I was tired and the cameras auto-focus wasn't playing ball! I have also made a start cleaning up the rear wheels... As I have a pair of new 24x9.50-12 grass tyres waiting to be fitted

    Finished Well House Roof, Next

I used decking rather than 1"x4" to fill the gaps, pine slats were going to be 120.00US. Five sheets of 1/2" 4'x8' decking was only 40.00. As you might see in the picture, I used four 4'x7' pieces on each corner to catch roof rafters then two 2'x4' to fill in the middle span, at the top I used the left over 12" cuts from the four large pieces. I used liquid nails adhesive below the decking and then installed drip edge and tar paper, after that a row of starter shingles at the bottom and then up I went. It will take me a day or so to heal up from this type of activity, fingers are blistered and bleeding, back is sore, Achilles tendon is tender, and spirit is low. I'm also painting the interior of a 3,000 sq.ft. home ceiling, walls, trim, and cabinets. I painted the same house when it was new in 1995.

    Brinly culttivators, two for one

Yes, the cultivator is a model CC-500 row crop cultivator and the harrow is the Model SS-500 drag harrow. I have the bolt and strap for the concrete block hold down for the row crop and found the standard keepers and lock wedges, the steel wheels I have on order and will use a 3/4 rod to make rear wheel assembly like the original in the manual Brinly attachments 4 GE Elec-Trak.pdf Brinly CC-500 row crop cultivator.pdf

Lovely shine on that Matt (no contradiction intended ). And I spot an unpainted screwdriver on the bench . I'll probably be up all night again Matt....trying to work out what insomnia means?.....Question time again... Is this a Gasoline/Kerosene model?. What is the Tank made from i.e. Brass or Steel.
