Thanks Chris! Will be unusual for me not to restore something........ But seeing guys and gals actually getting in the dirt and playing with their machines has me curious? Gotta give it a go! I will be checking all is in fine fettle beforehand, hence the engine being off the 2nd machine, don't want any unreliability do we??? (no mentions of the Gem and Bantam at Ardingly..........) Anyways here are a couple of daylight piccies....

    Hassocks garden centre

Early start this morning in thick fog, we arrived at the garden centre and set up the engine and made a coffee, ran the engine for a couple of hours sold a pair of wheels and had a look around and managed to. buy some kohler exhaust plpe connectors. We went into the cafe and had a nice fried breakfast ran the engine again untill 3pm, loaded up and came home. A nice little outing and chilled out. Heres a couple of photos

    For Sale

Hi, Friends-- I've run upon hard times these days, and would like to offer my O&R/Polaris Power Pole Outboard for sale. I'd like a fair price for it (fair to us both) and prefer someone here to have it rather than a squabble on Ebay. Hopefully, someone can offer a reasonable price for it, plus shipping. I've been out of work for about 15mo. now, and may have to go on SS if I can't stay afloat much longer. Here are some pix; the Carburetor section shows the carb of this unit being rebuilt, and other sections show the interior of it all. A video is here: http://vid211.photobucket.com/albums/bb92/laserscottman/IMG_0665.mp4 My email is: Laserscottman@sbcglobal.net

    Mayfield Merlin No3

Picked up another Mayfield Merlin a while back. Brings my count to 3 Been sat in a barn in Essex for many years until a friend of mine took pity on it & saved it. Its complete apart from deck flaps which I have a set. Not made up my mind what I am going to do with it yet. I would consider a deal for a bolens or trojan tractor if anybodys interested

Some photo's taken on a visit to the above. This Caterpillar combine below, has to be seen to be believed. Absolutely gorgeous. Something for the Ransomes boys. This strange thing is a cutter chucker for making silage. If you look closely at this Leyland you will notice it's all cut away.

    Heritage Transport Museum Glasgow.

Look to be a very interesting museum and a very interesting way to display the cars. Very similar to the VW museum display in Wolfburg except for the poor visibility due to the excess smoke.......

    Ransomes MG2 number 137

Only just read this - Not so sure about "apparently no lapping required" . I bought a set of Neway seat cutters forty years ago and always lap in after refacing valves and re-cutting seats . Would consider it good workshop practice (as opposed to manufacturers assembly ) . The Black and Decker valve refacer dates back to the days when they made proper tools and incorporates a vernier attachment for grinding valve stems on engines without adjustable tappets.

Almost done....... One or two little bits left to finish, painting the nut and bolt heads, replacing the cork on the fuel tap, handlebar grips, decals, oh and some oil for the gearboxes. Have ordered a litre of sae140 as specified, EP free of course! Will get a better picture when this flippin rain stops!

Finally found an XLH-1 Harvester, or should I say "one fell in my lap". A really nice man from Michigan (Steve Adams) found this XL tool thread on MoM while researching it and contacted me through a PM. Turns out he is not a collector and would like it to go to someone who will get it running and enjoy having it in a collection. Steve also took the time to go back to the place he found it and look for the extension pole and the tree jaw that goes with it. He found them in a barn and is sending those as well. These are very rare and even more so for a complete machine. I'm pretty excited about having one in the collection and look forward to getting it running to test it out.
