Thanks for all the cool comments guys It is indeed Yesterday was my first time using a pin-striping tool and I have to say it's a nice bit of kit. Once you get a rhythm going it's quite easy to produce some nice looking stripes.. The rears were done using a metal guide to keep the line in the same place all the way round, the front wheels it's fair to say are quite rough so they were striped "free hand" with the tool.. A couple more photos as the painted panels do look that good.. OK, maybe three And a two tone dyno-start..

    Conyers Battery Charging Set

Hi, I am new to this group and am looking for information about my Sachs powered Conyers battery charging generator. I believe it is a 1967 model. i am hoping that someone has instructions to change the output voltage from 12 to 6 , or 24 volts. I have owned it for about 6 years, it runs great and the generaor works. I got it as a bonus when purchasing a Villiers powered Penguin Amphibious ATV. Thanks in advance, Kevin

So, I've noticed the forum has a Stationary engine section, although it's for Petrol engines I guess I can post about my Diesels? Not so long ago I restored a Lister CS12/2 that my Dad had started before he left this world, I thought I should finish what he had started a decade or more before. Sadly as he had left it in a stripped down state and partially exposed to the elements it involved a very thorough every part to pieces restoration. Over 18 months I restored the engine plus and alternator for it to drive, the set up is in memory of Dad who loved engines and was extremely knowledgable on electrics. I designed and fabricated a semi portable base for it all to sit on and it has now attended several rallies and been the power source at a few family parties. Here she is as Dad left her: Here are some of the components nearing the end of the restoration, I recall this was just after I reassembled the injector pumps : Out at her first rally at Newby hall where she ran 16 hours solid on he first proper run, I think we ran somewhere around 32 hours in total at that rally: And a quick video somebody took at Newby, she normally has 2000 Watts of lighting running plus a kettle or chip pan as well as all the mobile phones people bring to me to charge!:

    Conyers Battery Charging Set

A mate of mine down on the Sussex Coast (no not Mr Showman) has a large collection of stationary engines, mainly generators and battery charging sets, amongst which is a little set made by W.E.Conyers Ltd. I always fancied this little set and thought if one came along I would add it to the collection, as its 6 12 or 24 volt I could use it to demonstrate the 12 volt Tarpen equipment that I have. Walking round the Sunday Sortout at Newark last November I spotted a Conyers set on the very last stall we looked at. It wasn't dear so was duly purchased and brought back to the camping field (see first photo below) A few days later I popped down to see our mate Steve who owns the other Conyers set and found that not only did my set run with a bit of tinkering (and a bit of smoke - too much oil in the petrol) but that it and Steves set are only two serial numbers apart !!

    Conyers Battery Charging Set

Conyers alternator coupled to a ten horsepower Tecumseh . Gen set assembled by the old Godfreys of Brenchley (Kent) company in the late 70s just before they went into liquidation - allegedly due to an ill advised venture into genset production involving Nigeria! This one is for sale. PM me if interested.

Good work James The alternator looks just fine where it is, you might want to think about making a cover for it though to keep any rain out,,

Looking good, nice to see somebody else using petrol to thin, I don't have a choice as am allergic to thinners.

we had a busy day today went to spray the panels found i did"nt have any all purpose thinners the nearest place to us is 20 mile away, so i thinned the paint with petrol why i was doing this ian pinstriped the wheels as he wanted a bit of bling, to do this we used a roller instead of a brush now its time for the rebuild

Hi all had another full day on the project , I've finally finished the new power steering tank that has took a lot of fabrication , I am trying to make everything as compact as possible so I have squeezed it in between the engine and the steering unit . I have also started the wiring so I can start easier with out jump leads I have also fitted an alternator , I'm in decided yet weather that's its final resting place or weather I shall move it nearer the engine bay which will be difficult but I am going to see , the alternator in its present location sticks out of the bonnet slightly but is in line with the hydraulic pump ,

    Lister12/2 and 4.5Kva "Fatboy" .

When I was at school in darkest Sussex in the 1950s the school was "off grid" and had a single? cylinder Lister generator (start-o-matic?) . Presumably it was DC as there was a room full of glass tank accumulators - no recollection of the voltage. I seem to remember that it stood quite tall and had twin flywheels and a thermo-syphon cooling system that just lost heat from a 45 gallon sized drum mounted above it . This tank was a good source of hot water for melting "scotch glue" in the woodwork shop next door!

    Conyers Battery Charging Set

Just a small update on the Conyers story, we visited our mate Steve down the coast this evening after visiting Chris and Pam Sutton (who are both ok), talking to Steve in his garage/musuem he suddenly said " you better have that Conyers then", so now I own both sets featured above !! Thanks Steve...
