Working the horse... For a change

Did a few more hours in the top field. The GT14 even came out to play, though it only just made it up the hill. It's still really only 4x4 territory. Me and the kids did breakfast outdoors too -

Home today from a long weekend in Gloucestershire including two days at Tractor World. Here's my Tractor World photos, bear with me, there's quite a few... The outdoors photos are mainly of machines in the auction (not the Transit 4x4 or the mini Farmall)... -

It´s working! Some valve grinding, cleaning the fuel tank, new oil, a new cheap-ish carb and a new lever + cable did the job. A BIG "Thank You" for all your helpful comments The only miracle is the governor... the cable is a stiff wire and the lever keeps it in place. no chance the governor can push it back to reduce the engine speed. How can this be solved? At the moment I regulate the engine speed with the lever and make sure it is not too high. -

Working the horse... For a change

In a rare departure, C4 was out this afternoon for some duties in the top field. Firstly pulling out some old fencing buried in the ground, and then moving a a few logs...as well as providing a little light to see. -

1 pointwell I shall leave entering again until 2018, I'm not prepared to freeze my bum off at a show like I did at this years malvern. I spoke to a number of exhibitors this year who felt the same and even overheard a few spectaters saying its to cold to walk round. A great pity as apart from the temperature it was a great show.

There's a display in the Severn Hall (new for 2016) that's where all the posh stuff goes, concours section and all that... They also had model displays and other tractor clubs in there, bit of a mix really and that's no bad thing... -

Some great photos as usual, Paul. You must of spent the entire show with a camera in your hand judging by how many shots you got, lol. -

I managed to get it running now, new plugs, cleaned points, new fuel line and that was it. Everything works as it should, even the lights and hydraulic deck lift. -

1 pointYou can say muck spreader if you want James, you would be wrong though.. Which idea is that Norm? Nope, not a BBQ Chris, but it's coffee holding capability's have been tested Sorry for the lack of updates Guy's, although work has been happening I've just been too shattered to type about it.... Saying that, have an update They say there is a first time for everything, for me stripping an oil drum down to bare metal was certainly a first.. Hopefully a last as well as it wasn't fun! Of course once every last bit of paint has been removed, out comes the red oxide and a coat or two of paint goes back on.. You may of noticed Nigel in the above photo actually doing something , he was painting the center of the wheels red.. What follows red oxide? International Harvester Red of course Have an arty shot of the inside of the barrel. Red on the outside if a little blurred.. A detail shot of one of the trailer wheels, it just needs a red pinstripe to match Horse Gut. The almost finished rig, we just need to find a shovel and get some "poo poo collector" decals made to go on the back.. Expect a PM Mark And to finish off this update.......

This post inspired me to take my camera to work with me today. Here is the C121 hauling a load of logs I'd just cut and the Raider rotovating a second pass on some pathways that needed reseeding: -

I think Chris will use the digger to create an underground storage facility or he might use it to store them on top of the existing buildings...... The possibilities are endless......
