8 pointsNicholas has owned this machine since 1979 but at the age of 76 he realised he would never be able to use it again in anger. So today I became the new owner

1 pointJust arrived today - a fully restorable Electro Flow Pump. I wonder where they got that name? The pump's rubber primer bellows is pretty well petrified, so I won't try to move it! I recently finished restoring an Orline hedge trimmer, came out pretty good.

1 pointYou need a heavy weight on the tip of the conveor. That way it will pull a wheelie & you can get it up ramps

Thanks for the informations. It might be 1963, as the reed block is aluminium, not plastic. Anyhow - I took it appart for a bit of cleaning, and while it is not NOS, it have not seen much use. There is no carbon anywhere: I ended up taking it totally apart and gave it a good rinse. This is the state now: The air filter was falling apart, so the foam is now removed and one of the insulating washes on the 12V outlet was cracked, so while waiting for one of my friends to find hos box of these washers, this is as far as I got. /Steen -
1 pointWhat a little beauty. Looking forward to seeing it at the weekend.

1 pointRather than add plates to tilt the auger, is it possible to rig up a way to raise and lower the auger?
-
1 pointWill have a look tomorrow it hasn't run since its last outing but should have it running after an hour fettling

1 pointAnd most likely had the front auger fitted on site.

1 pointIf you have deep enough pockets.... They were simply lifted from the side of the sand bed into the bed using a crane, that's all, never made to go up ramps or anything else.

1 pointYep, not long now

1 pointYou would be right Norm... Which is why I made this Not perfect but it should help the gasses flow in the right direction now Getting the down pipes from the engine to the 2 into 1 thingy was interesting, lot's of measuring, bending, welding and trimming a few mm's of here and there until it all fitted together.. The exhaust system is split into 3 parts so I can actually get it in and out of the frame.. Here's the front part on the bench getting fully welded up.. A couple of little holes like this to fill or it will be louder than I think it's going to be... Quite loud I'm guessing The rear section with the two shortened silencer boxes and some 1 into 2 pipework.. Here's the completed system, me thinks it looks quite mad

1 pointI use TSP or tri-sodium phosphate, it seems to be about right for soft metals including cleaning wood for refinishing, I think that is what Twinsport is speaking of. I get it in small paper milk cartons in powder form. BTW they sell a 30L ultrasonic cleaner that is 22x13x12 (LxWxH) that may do most engine blocks

1 pointChaps! Most toilet cleaning fluids here in Denmark contains acid. Some also contain bleach. The acids used are either phosphoric acid, citric acid or hydrochloric acid. I avoid the two latter acids (and bleach). While phosphoric acid is as effective as the other acids, it is far less aggressive to aluminium. I Never use caustic soda. I find it far to aggressive. Both to aluminium and to my skin.. /Steen

1 pointI want a 1477 and a 1455 to complete my early large frame hydro collection, I have my four tube frames, but one needs an engine. The early H16 may get one of my large frame spare S14D engines as a power plant and be a hybrid, or I may look for a HH140 OH valve engine for it, we'll see.

1 pointThe Bolens sounds lovely and that's a good price I would think for it too. It looks like another honest little tractor too.

1 pointSpent nearly 3 hours today fitting the rear rotor covers. Am a little disappointed with the quality of fit considering how much they cost. Took a lot of fettling to get lined up properly. Even had to resort to taking a grinder to it. Got the final decal from titch fitted and the Brass plate I had made a while ago. The chain was tensioned and instead of oil I used Pecker grease as I have on other Gems, its very messy stuff but saves the risk of leaks.
