Good evening all here is my old friend Auld Bob who has been retired for many years after I stopped ploughing with it .He has been sitting at the back of the shed until today when he came out to say please start ploughing with me again Please Please how can i refuse hope like I have now owned this tractor longer than it last owner who knows 2017 might be the year to start ploughing with Auld Bob again thanks

The Bolens 1054 previously owned by John is still doing well and currently fitted with wheel weights. This is a picture from Saturday morning when we were clearing up a few pallets. I think we need a bigger trailer

Recently I have had a number of collector friends ( older than me ) that have been taken ill making them unable to carry on with their hobby and incapable of disposing of their collections. This has then fallen to friends or family who may not be fully familiar with what they are dealing with. I also find that despite acres of space I am forever having to move things around that I have not touched since the last time I had to move them for another reason. I then started thinking about all the things I have collected over the years that just sit in cupboards and never see daylight from one year to the next. I have therefore decided to have a clear out and have found it an ideal pastime on cold wet days to sort bits out and put them up for auction, by doing it now it is almost fun but I can see that if I was doing it because I had to for some reason it would be a painful chore. I had some builders here this week and decided to offer them various builders tools I had not used for at least four years, there were seven of them and before they left I had cleared £1000 and cleared half of one of my sheds. !!!!!

There were a couple of small dents which I have filled and then etch primed the tank. Its been bush painted with the same enamel used on the rest of this machine. However as enamels are not fuel resistant, I have a 1k clear spray can which is fuel resistant that I am going to use, once the tank is completely dry and cured.

We had some tractor time on Saturday afternoon and decided to attack the tyres. Tri-ribs and new tubes fitted to the fronts and new tubes for the rears. The job would have been more fun if Joseph had not driven over some cat poo last time he used the tractor.

Na, they're still catching up unless one of them has about 50. BUT, they sure do find some stuff and it's slim pick'n over there compared to here. ( SO, maybe on that curve these guys are closer than I think). One thing for sure, it's guys like this which keep the hobby of collecting these little items alive and well.

Looks good. A little tip I've found with these Villiers tanks is if you bare metal where the cap seal goes it stops the paint being lifted by petrol seepage around the neck.

Just trying to get the bad jobs out the way first. I want to get on with stripping the paint off the main gearbox/frame assembly but needs to be done outside and it hasn't stopped raining for nearly a week with us. Being realistic I can see the budget hitting £150 but this will still be cheap for a diesel Gem.

Have you Chris, you kept that quiet Paintwork and decals are so good I won't be touching them, will be asking Titch nicely to replicate some of the Paul Bunyan decals just to finish it off .

Got some more done today after it stop raining. This is the strip I did by hand yesterday. Nearly to the drive gate. Little C-81 has been working like a good 'un. She looks a lot cleaner in the photo than she is. Drainage pipe in, covered with pea gravel, membrane on that and filled in. Rusty thinking, "Oh goody! Some nice soft earth to dig holes in".

Also made the spacer plate to lift the engine 8mm, this together with the 2mm clearance should give me about 10mm total and allow the new tyres enough room not to foul the engine air shroud!

Hi all This is a new trophy that was donated for the horticultural ploughing group it is called the Bruce and Sheila Marnoch trophy This was the first time the group ploughed at the Carse of Gowrie ploughing match we were made very welcome and made at home.the cup was presented at their annual dance there was good food good company good Scottish music in fact it was a very good night There were four people who took part.T Tweedie was the first to win the cup F Munro came second J Law came third The next local match there will be ten people ploughing more on that later PS notice the back drop
