    All my O&R machines

I got all of my O&R powered machines in one place this afternoon, there's the Tarpen rotavator unit, the Turbair sprayer, half an Orline compressor set (anyone got a suitable compressor ??), the Champ generator and the 3/4hp engine that arrived the other day...

    Wheelhorse New Arrival

Bought this the other week and haven't had chance to really look at it, how you see it is how I got it, the.only part I can see missing is the rear fender and seat. I think it's a 1980 B115.

    home made metal folder.

As requested i have started this thread for my home built sheet metal folder. I could have bought a bench mounted folder, but they limit the width of steel, and the depth if making a tight box. You also can't make something like this with multiple angled bends, no cutting and welding were involved to make this panel. It's a similar design I copied from a friend, made from various thick box section and plate. the ram is one of these gear pullers, The lower 'V' block is a small section of proper press brake tooling i bought from scrap. Unfortunately I couldn't find the upper part, so that's made using a 4" bolster chisel cut down. It works well but but just not as clean a fold, so i'm still looking for an upper piece of tooling to cut down in to different width. Its very versatile making panels like these, The downside is it takes a while to make a long fold due to the winding of the mechanism involved, but if i could find an upper 'V' tooling to make a wider piece that would help, and i see they do a hydraulic operated gear puller now so may invest in one of those one day Any questions ask away. I'll try and get some pics up later of just the tool, these pics were taken intending to show the work piece not the tool Panel work shown from my thread here for ease in future reference: http://myoldmachine.com/topic/1495-transit-restoration-work/

    Petro Chug-A-Pump

This is the latest addition to my O&R collection, a Petro Powered Products Chug-A-Pump. The engine is an early compact I with the side mounted carb needle & screws in the back of the starter/blower cover. Unfortunately a previous owner disliked the starter mechanism so much that they cut it off completely. The engine was also seized & the flywheel nut threads were stripped, fortunately the crankshaft threads are OK. After removing the sparkplug I discovered someone had tried and failed to unseize it by hammering the piston with a rod, the piston has a hole in it. I left it overnight with some oil poured in the cylinder. Today I stripped it down further, I was surprized to find the flywheel key was steel, it does have a different part number to the later engines so may be original? The oil left in overnight did the job and I was able to turn the flywheel a bit, which enabled me to remove the cylinder without damaging the conrod. The cylinder is a bit rusty but hopefully it will clean up for reuse. The missing bits of the piston were shaken out of the crankcase. The gudgeon pin is also different to the later engines as it is solid, it is also smaller in diameter, I have a few spare pistons but they can't be used because of this. David

That ram looks a bit on the wimpy side, do you think it will be strong enough?

I think this is the last update for Xmas, brackets and a pin made. Rear lift now finished but for pipes and paint

I'm sure I read on the old forum that the compressor was one of the rarer O&R tools. David

A merry Christmas to all at Mom

I have been a little quiet recently here on Mom , this is partly due to being preoccupied with my mothers Cancer diagnosis, things are not looking to good for her at the moment so as you can imagine we are all quite worried. I hope to resume normal service in the new year but would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a wonderful Xmas & Happy New Year. Take care of your loved ones

A merry Christmas to all at Mom

Sorry about your Mum Neil, I went through something similar a few years back with my mum and for me the thing that always comes to mind is that you cannot spend too much time with them. As such, if everything turns out well it is good family time, if not you will never get the opportunity to do it again and it is the memories that matter. Have a great Christmas Iain

OldBuzzard, I have been following the restoration of the forklift on another forum. Great job Largeframe Bolens are really hard to find in the UK and I can't imagine any of the forklift attachments found it's way over. Iain

Wait until you see the one OldBuzzard has, that it even more cool....

The more common forklift attachment for a Bolens is a Johnson, but the one OldBuzzard has is really cool and not like the one Nigel made (even though that is really cool too) This is an advert for the Johnson one

Welcome to MOM OldBuzzard. I enjoy following your posts on other forums and if I remember correctly you helped me a while back with a question I had on one of my Bolens. The Bolens importer Howard, sold a number of unique attachments in the UK and some are very interesting. Talking of drooling, I am sure the folks on here would love to see your 1886 forklift. Best wishes Iain

The worst part. Decided to go for a lacquered bare metal finish because, well, it's easy and big fans of the rusty/patina look! Final product. Video soon. Hopefully.
