    Bolens G14

I have been doing a bit on the G14 between other jobs. Tom dropped in the other day too and he got to try some of my tractors. I expect he will be buying a Bolens now after trying one, I really should have taken a picture In the end on the G14 I milled the head out to take a 1-1/2" sleeve then knocked up a sleeve on the lathe which I then put a 1" BSP thread in. Welded the bracket onto the sleeve and pressed into the head. I have reassembled the engine and plan to give it a wash before putting all the tin work on. Iain

    ORLine Power Tools

I finally managed to get some Garage time to reassemble the 2 models acquired from 'Wallfish' and the USofA. The first is an ORLine Mustang Chainsaw, the other is an ORLine Hedge trimmer. Both will be restored in the fullness of time, but for now they are reassembled and will be tested over the next couple of days. Here are a couple of picture of them........

Hi Martin, you won't go far wrong with the C series, good robust tractor. Once you got one and have the model number you can download a manual from the Toro site, spares are easy to get new and secondhand and Kohler engines are the best (in my opinion). Silencer,s are pretty expensive and batterys run at about £50, the most thing they suffer from is badly maintained by their owners. The tyres are always cracked and perished but last for ages, just look at the trackrods as they are always worn and they suffer from water in the transmission, just drain and refill with the correct oil, just give it a good service and grease up and clean the deck when you finish mowing, anything else give us a shout, and good luck with it. This is in the yard covered up Ruston Hornsby size 4 VSO diesel GEC generator set, I have no idea about the condition but it was running 10 years ago. Does anyone want a great rare restoration project? No its not free I have been offered £2000 for scrap but she needs to go to a good home. The generator is rated at 114amps running at 1500RPM giving 18.5 KW and boy this is a big piece of iron. According Ray Hooley it was sold on 16.4.1940 to Higgins & Cattle Ltd, London W1. I also have a number of single twin three cylinde and 4 cylinder diesel Lister Petters ideal for cement mixers saw benches etc that are on anther topic. Happy to answer any questions. I am near Fishguard west Wales.

    Another wheel horse implement...

This one isn't as cool as the sickle bar I got a few weeks back but it's still wheel horse and it was a bargain so I'm happy It needs a fair bit of love and attention but it's all there and it's solid. I will most likely spray it with oil and stick it in the shed until I have time to get it back to working order. It also needs a bag, whether you can still obtain these I don't know... Tom

Hello all, I just joined this forum, and please excuse my ignorance towards tractors and such. I am writing today, with a long shot of a query. I have the remnants of and old tractor on my 80+ acre property, and was hoping that someone here could give me a general idea of what this is. The only clear markings I can find on anything that is left, is on the rear axle, which is marked Timken. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Been Wheelhorse Picking Again

Done a bit more today, made a new wiring loom replaced the rubber bushing in the fuel tank, cleaned out the carb, replaced the solenoid and made new battery leads and new fuel pipe. Had it running in the shed on stands for ages and ran it through the gears, all seems good. I'm at the point now where I've got to decide ,,, do i bolt it back together and offer it for sale or do i do a complete resto job then sell it

    ORLine Power Tools

Thanks! But Im starting to dislike these little engines. I wish they would just run..... Spent a large part of the day trying to get them to do more than cough and splutter. Have fuel, have spark, both are getting fuel to the plug...... But they just wont start! The Ohlsson Rice 3/4hp I have is almost as bad. It has had a complete rebuild, new barrel, piston, carb, coil, full set of seals and gaskets. More TLC than I care to remember, countless evenings where I've given up..... It too has spark and fuel, it starts, runs for 20-30 seconds then stops. No matter where I set the mix, its the same. Expensive and Unusual paperweights spring to mind!!!

New addition - Wheel horse 312-8

All back together now Norm I had an afternoon on it today, got the hitch all connected up after getting some stainless steel D shackles. I also welded the high - low lever up; it feels so good to have low range back!! Hitch in place: Lever back in place All back together: Back on the bench ready for an engine service and to flush out the transmission in the next few days.. It's getting there now, I also have a plough lined up for it which should be installed in the next few weeks which I can hopefully put to work at Rural past times event. Thanks for looking. Tom

    Been Wheelhorse Picking Again

Well its all back in the tractor, had it running and been through the gears and all seems to be doing what it should. Left it running for a bit in gear to circulate the oil
