Wallfish got a reaction from factory in BEJAY winch
Here's a cool little cable winch that made it's way into my collection.
I usually like to keep them original but this one will probably end up getting a new paint job.
It's kind of heavy and awkward to carry but can't find any where a handle would have been either.

I finally finished the project. Got the foot pegs added and got the engine squared away. I rode it last night. It was a once in a lifetime experience. Believe me, once was enough for someone my age!! It is fast and the steering is quick.

Wallfish got a reaction from E Killackey in Little Petro mini bike

Here is a Brochure picture of a Little Petro minibike. It was made in the early to mid 60's by Odom Manufacturing. This is the same company that made the Petro Powered Products Drill that is on this site along with quite a few other Ohllson & Rice powered tools.Jim Odom also Produced the Comet C Saw for Comet.I will be putting pictures of my Little Petro bikes on this site soon,I need to crop them all as the file size's are too big . Only about 12 of these bikes have been located to date, quite a rare bike.
This particular Brochure shows the bike with a TAS engine, but early on,they used the Olhsson & Rice.
With O&R

Wallfish got a reaction from CNew in ORline Hedge Trimmer
ORline hedge trimmer.
This one has a throttle control which must have been an option, because these are also seen without it

Wallfish reacted to howardman in Auto culto Autogardener Restoration
This project was laying in the back of the shed for 5 years , but when I sourced the correct engine (villiers mark 15 OHV) last year finally made a start. It was quiet a mess , but came with a plough, Discs, and large ridge plough, Tool frame and i also bought a Rotavator attachment separately 2 years ago.
It was very oily ..so first job was dismantle and spray with "oil eater"
it was messy to dismantle with oil everywhere from a leaking gearbox (worn bronze wheel bushings)
Here is the new bronze wheel bush fitted..the old worn ones caused the wheels to wobble!!
The gearbox fell off the bench ..cast iron is not strong !! big setback. But welded okay
Its chain drive so gearbox needs to be oil tight
Better view of welding repair
Its drive gearbox (upper) is an albion with a reverse..this was seized but managed to free it up. Filled with non ep gear oil..as it has bronze phosphorus components
Finally got to priming after shot blasting most parts (paint was very tough possibly contained lead)
Finished in John Deere Yellow missing from pic is heavy front weight.
. Engine is great ..good starter and burns clean. Now must start on all the attachments

Wallfish got a reaction from CNew in Restored Petro Drill ---- Chug-A-Drill
Yup, they are a rare item plus one of the coolest O&R tools out there.
Got mine from Webhead, a friend and fellow collector who didn't beat me up too bad but it's still one of my expensive items. I am glad to have it!
Here are the pics of mine and what sold me immediately on it

Wallfish reacted to Darmic1 in Ohlsson and Rice mini 2 stroke engine
Managed to get it all back together, but without a spark...... A quick chat with Wallfish and an exchange of photo's showed me that a wire was in the wrong place. Once rectified, a healthy spark was produced. I was so tempted to try the engine, despite not having a working carb. So I squirted some fuel in and gave it a pull! The 2nd pull and away it went....... not for long, but enough to be happy with the progress.
Next was to attend to the paint work. The fuel tank had a couple of small pin holes. Once stripped of old paint I was able to solder repair the pin holes, then apply some filler to smooth the dents. Next came a coat or 2 of etch primer and finally a couple coats of top coat.
Gave the starter housing the same treatment........ New decals are on the way too!

Wallfish got a reaction from Triumph66 in Whats the best way to clean a fuel tank??
If the rust isn't too bad, try filling with Apple Cider Vinegar. It's cheap and eco friendly.(Regular vinegar works but it's slower). I also shake some sharp screws in them to loosen the big stuff. After soaking for 2 days, check it, if it needs more just reuse the vinegar again. After it's clean, rinse with baking soda and water to neutralize the acid and blow it dry with a compressor.
