Adding the hardener on the last two coats is really nice, sets up dry in less than an hour and can recoat in 30 minutes or less. I’ve got the deck ready to go on the black and white Bolens H16 with the big knobby tires, those tires are coming off and a brand new set of Carlisle 24x9.50-12 multi-trac C/S turf tires will be going on the back and matching front Carlisle front turf tires, these are HIGH dollar turf tires well over 400 for a set for that taller size, I got them at half price on sale. The knobby ITP 589 and front tri-ribs will be going on the Bolens 1556 and on the red wheels along with the wheel weights. So the Bolens 1556 will be my AG tractor and the H16 will be my mower model, Between the two of them I have 10 implements that will go on either. I just finished the H16 deck and 1556 wheels

    Project "Why Not"

That sounds a bit drastic to me Norm Well, I didn't quite make the test drive deadline today, but getting very close.. Due to a measuring problem I had to make another sleeve to join the 2 parts of the prop shaft together... For once I can say the measuring cock up wasn't down to me but measuring calipers.. Nigel will vouch for that as well! Getting the engine running again was fun.. The spark at the plugs which was there yesterday had vanished today!! After lot's of searching and ing I traced the problem down to the run/stop switch which had decided that the run position just wasn't an option any more! So sorting those two problems kinda killed any chance of a test drive today But there's always tomorrow The amended "To do" list.. Find out why the fuel tap is leaking.. Fill diff with oil. Finish the wiring, it's about 90% done. Finish the prop shaft.. About 50% 90% done. It just needs welding and fitting. Bleed the brakes again to get the last of the air out. Warm the engine up and change the oil. Set the front end up. Get WN off the bench.. Go for a test drive With WN off the bench it only seemed fair that I rolled her outside for a few photos.. For me... This one really hits the spot

    rollo croftmaster

Hi all, i have just bought this rollo croftmaster, and im planning to restore it eventually. My question is does anyone know what size the front wheels and tyres are supposed to be? At the moment it has lawnmower wheels on it which are too wide. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks sparrow

    Briggs NR6

I'm sure you guys are getting tired of me filling this section up with my engines, but I just finished up another old Briggs, and I thought I'd share. Its a 46 Briggs NR6. It has the gear reduction cast into the block, and looks almost identical to my NR2. Its an old military engine, and it was in rough shape, and missing parts. Thanks to having lots of spare parts on hand, it was no big deal getting it completed. It got new rings, one valve, new gaskets, and seals. I did it in a lower gloss paint since its military, but I still like the way it turned out. Here are a few pics, and a video of it running next to my NR2. Thanks Matt

    Cub Cadet Transport Box

Thanks Chris! So today I went about sanding it down and painting it. I was going to add a skim of filler all over it to get rid of the pitting! but I thought if I do that it may look like its made with new iron, I thought if I leave it a little pitted and give it a few coats of paint, its rough age will still be there, so anyway the frame is now all painted up with a few coats of gloss black, just waiting to put some good quality grained wood into it and varnish it up.

    Yellow Mower Challenge!

Courtesy of Alan on here for noticing a derelict version of this Mower project at his friend's and probably the same one Chris had seen?, I now have a source of a few salvageable spare parts from this- After fully reducing the machine to a pile of Rusty bits, I found some parts that were preserved in copious amounts of grease and unexposed are in better shape than on my Mower ! . This Mower is a couple of years younger (1960ish) than mine and a few noticeable design changes, but I can still deduce things like- which holes in the Deck Panel on mine for example, should not be there and were done by the previous owner with the modifications made to it. One good point on this Donor Mower is that the Wheel/Tyres show the original Tread Pattern, which also means they are greater in diameter !- Like most things in this game, there is always the 'Trade Off' and these have more cuts and marks in them with the raised lettering worn off on the outside, but a lot of that can be invisibly repaired. The Ratchet Free Wheel Nuts, the Pinions and fixings are all useable. As for the Cylinder (Reel), well it is just possible it could be used, but it is different. This is where I believe that ATCO possibly acknowledged there was a design fault in the original (mine) where the Blades/knives kept breaking and they redesigned it and this is the revised version. The Blades/Knives are still the same robust thickness of 5/32" (4mm), but they have added an extra Web (to 6) on the Spindle to reduce the distance between the Webs improving its strength overall- Still playing the waiting game for a response on the situ with the original one

    Cheers Mr showman!

Real ale has my vote. We have some great breweries in East Anglia, with larger ones such as Adams and a lot of good smaller ones. Woodfords is my personal favorite with St Peter's a close second. In order to set the correct priorities and ensure it was compelling for people to attend, we had our wedding reception (many years ago) at the hall located on the St Peter's brewery site and arranged brewery tours for all our guests. Tractor World Malvern 2016

I met Mark Woodward the organiser of Tractor World Malvern at Newby hall this weekend, he informed me that due to a clash with a sewing and needlework show the dates for 2016 have been changed to 27th and 28th February. The good news is that as they now have the entire showground and all halls there is scope for bigger displays which will include the 30 odd Ransomes MG crawlers and derivatives we are hoping to display. Bit of a pain for those that have booked hotels etc but at least it should mean we can re book nearer to the venue. The show at Newby Hall was a great weekend, it was good to meet up with a number of forum members and put faces and names to avatars, bit of a shame that there were only two Ransomes on display compared to about twenty Wheel Horses may be some others will turn up next year.

    C-120 refurb.

Stickers applied at Newby Hall courtesy of Mark. (Meadowfield) Today I made a couple of mods to the stack today. Shortened it by 4" and made some slight mods to the internals. The exhaust seems a bit more subdued, but I might be imagining it. I also added a little something I picked up at Newby, to the right side of the fender. Photo tomorrow.

I think I know where your at with the frustrations of finding problems on a project, whether they are 'Bodges' or 'Let Downs'. Must be like searching for Needle in a Haystack if you have no Model/Spec to work to. Lets hope one surfaces for you.

They may not allow Bendy into a tractor pull, unless they have a special category, here in the States many pulling clubs highly define machines by weight, horsepower, and in Bendy's case construction. I have a feeling if Bendy could pull that D series like it did, it might out class any stock or super stock, not sure about the unlimited class

Fuel tap will be leaking 'cos you've put fuel in the tank. Getting WN off the bench should be easy if it's facing the door.

    Didn't last long.

SWMBO keeps mentioning the Spitfire and how she would like it back on the road. So while the horses were still on the trailer, I decided to give the workshop a bit of a clear up and rearrangement, so work on Spit could commence.. Not seen that much floor space since It was built. Didn't last long.

This one day event continued to grow this year (I believe its the 5th year) with bikes, trikes, cars, even a scale steam lorry and a tractor coming and going all afternoon. I tried to film as much as I could, but with wind and a very loud band, some of it was not very good quality. Anyway, heres a few clips...
