Hi all had another afternoon of rear body fabrication in more detail the rear wheel arches I'm not sure about these yet so I'm after your advice here's what I've done do farm found out the old mandrel to roll 16 gauge steel into arches offering the arch up to the rear -
3 pointsA few photos if the tear down. Its surprising how quickly these Wheelhorses come apart. Someone must have had a problem with the belt slipping at one point and made up a couple of crude brackets. The rear most one was actually wearing away the back of the belt. That Kohler engine is one heavy son of a bitch. They are certainly made to last. The Wheelhorse has been painted at some point in its life and after the engine was removed i found a patch of the original paint, which was quite pink to my surprise. Most of the information i have found about paint colours say to use International Harvester 2150. The closest i can find, going by what was under the engine is Ral 3001 signal red. Now the work hard really begins, cleaning, sanding and painting.

Granddaughters Portrait of me and my Rotty "Gus"
Mowerman44 and 2 others reacted to HeadExam for a post in a topic
I think she was 9 or 10 when she sketched this, about 5 or 6 years ago, Alex Marie will be 16 this coming October almost 16. I was cooking somethin, not sure what, but the stove got short or she thought i was very tall. Gus died a year ago February 22, he was with me through thick and thin for over 14 years. I love the little wag marks she made, even with a stub he would wag tail and butt. This was the smartest, kindest, gentlest, and loyal companion a man could ever have -

I found this hand-operated duster at the Somerset Tractor Show, I don't know what make it is. The label appears to say When you buy ....... you buy..... (protection?) -

1 pointSingle plates usually come out at £45-£50 each. Chris did me the 3 for £120. As overall the spend on this machine is on track to be quite low( just an awful lot of time needed) I felt it was worth while spending a bit on taking it back to as close to new as I can get, the originals as can be seen earlier on in this project were badly damaged. The second roteho plate is for another project that I hope to reveal at some point in the next few months.

MG 2 number 225 for sale 1937
woz reacted to expeatfarmer for a post in a topic
I have decided to put my second T engined MG2 up for sale as with other projects it is unlikely that I will get back to it. It is the very rare Sturmey Archer engined machine with chain start mechanism. Partly dismantled to rebuild drive wheels, all parts are present. Tractor should be identical to 137 but has later ( 1938/39 ) additions such as tool box, later floorboards, fan guard and track mudguards. The engine has not run for a few years but has good compression. Tracks were refurbed by the previous owner with all new bolts etc. The tractor was fully restored about 25 years ago and has only been used for showing since. Tub and steelwork very good order and rust free. Drive wheels and idlers all good as are galleried load rollers. I have it on E bay but happy to consider sensible offers to someone who is prepared to bring it back to how it should be. -

1 pointYou can say muck spreader if you want James, you would be wrong though.. Which idea is that Norm? Nope, not a BBQ Chris, but it's coffee holding capability's have been tested Sorry for the lack of updates Guy's, although work has been happening I've just been too shattered to type about it.... Saying that, have an update They say there is a first time for everything, for me stripping an oil drum down to bare metal was certainly a first.. Hopefully a last as well as it wasn't fun! Of course once every last bit of paint has been removed, out comes the red oxide and a coat or two of paint goes back on.. You may of noticed Nigel in the above photo actually doing something , he was painting the center of the wheels red.. What follows red oxide? International Harvester Red of course Have an arty shot of the inside of the barrel. Red on the outside if a little blurred.. A detail shot of one of the trailer wheels, it just needs a red pinstripe to match Horse Gut. The almost finished rig, we just need to find a shovel and get some "poo poo collector" decals made to go on the back.. Expect a PM Mark And to finish off this update.......
