Loving all this room in the workshop, forgot what its like to be able to get to tools and walk about without climbing over something -
3 pointsPosted a thread over on RedSquare but wanted to share over here too since everyone isn't a member over there. This is being built quick to bring to the big Wheel Horse show in a couple of weeks. The feature tractors for this year are customs and since all of mine have been sold, I need to bring something. Started with a Snow/Dozer frame and trip springs, front axle and spindles for handle bars and any other Wheel Horse part that will work to get as many as possible on there. Springer front end won't be operational for the show but is being built to work once there's enough time to do it. Still a long way to go but this is what's done so far and just mocked up. Things will change as it progresses.

With Newby fast approaching i thought I'd better start getting my stuff together, the first being the Trachorse as its been in the drive since last year. had a few things to do, here's the list. exhaust fell off, slew levers seized up, throttle butterfly and choke seized up. fuel tank had a load of crap in it and the fuel pipes perished and leaking. got most of it sorted today just need some fuel pipe and some radiator paint for the exhaust -

The 400 is all done, cleaned out the fuel tank, changed the sediment bowl, changed the engine oil, all greased up cleaned and running. The same with the RJ58 apart from a small leak from the fuel tap, I'll change the O ring after lunch -

Ultrasonic cleaner
pmackellow reacted to the showman for a post in a topic
Had a play with the cleaner today, first I measured how much water it takes which was 8 pints i then took a pint out and added the metal cleaning liquid. the heater took an hour to get up to 70c i then put the parts in for cleaning and set the timer for 30 minutes. i wasn't sure what to expect and a couple of bits were well corroded and i thought i might be asking a lot but was quite suprized with the results. heres some photos of before and after -

1 pointHere is a ebay picture I found of the O&R winterising procedure, that came with an engine supplied through Rupert Ledger & Co. Ltd. (the UK distributor for O&R engines). It also mentions using a teaspoonful of oil in the cylinder and stopping the piston halfway to prevent damp air entering via the exhaust. David

1 pointWell it's about 99.9% finished, the fenders and a few other bits have now been bolted on ready for tomorrow's show so here are a few photos. The original number plate has now been put back on.

1 pointAfter using up all of the stock of yellow paint from my local ag merchant they ordered some more from another one of their stores, two days later it arrived and it was a different brand of paint somewhere along the line the paint code got lost so in desperation we made a 60 mile round trip (thanks mum) to another ag merchant and I finally got the paint meaning the last parts could be painted . I made a new gasket for the transmission. The wiring has now been finished and the lights work The bonnet got its final coat of paint and my IH wheel weights arrived (thanks @Charlie Smith) And here it is, nearly finished just a few little bits left to bolt on but it starts and runs like new! I'm very happy
