Bolens hood adjustment
HeadExam and one other reacted to slf-uk for a post in a topic
Yep had that problem. You have two adjustment points available. The holes in the hood where it attaches to the hinge are slotted and I found the best way to adjust them is to slacken the bolts, close the hood and slide it to the desired position. The hard bit is to do the bolt up with the hood closed, I usually do the outside two to hold it in position and then open the hood to get to the middle one. Picture of the hood slots on my G14 You can also move the dash tower/scuttle thing forward/back using the fixings holding it to the chassis tubes. This is best done with the battery removed as it then has very little weight. If you move the tower you need to be careful to make sure the wiring is still clear of the belts. This is a picture of the bracket (one on each side), in this case on my G10 but they are all the same. On some models the chassis tubes are covered up and if this is the case with your machine you will need to remove the covers first to get to the brackets. Hope this helps and let us know how it goes. 1 pointI finally managed to get some Garage time to reassemble the 2 models acquired from 'Wallfish' and the USofA. The first is an ORLine Mustang Chainsaw, the other is an ORLine Hedge trimmer. Both will be restored in the fullness of time, but for now they are reassembled and will be tested over the next couple of days. Here are a couple of picture of them........

Done a bit more today, i dont know why but i looked underneath the sump this morning and guess what no threaded holes so something else to swap over, glad i had a gaskit, next was the exhaust, it had a smaller pipe bolted to the block and of course they wouldn't undo then out with my big tap and a new piece of pipe. 1 pointA bit of an update for you chaps, as you know he steering is finished, so here's a photo for you. The connecting arm has been moved to behind the hubs which makes the front end look neater and a lot less danger of a tree or something bending it Yes you are seeing right, that is a fake leaf spring on the front.. I will make one out of thicker metal strips just for the Hot Rod look. The fake spring mounts will also add strength to the outer edges of the axle where the big rose joints bolt onto.. Not sure if the front hitch will be staying or going, it adds to the Wheel Horse look and could be handy for fitting weights onto to keep the front end down should needs be Those with sharp eyes may of noticed a two extra somethings in the above photo, this photo might help a bit more.. The clue is, it's the thing just in front of the rear wheel.. Yep, WN now has an exhaust system. Here's the right side mount . The left side needed a step to clear the steering rod thingy.. The step will be made to look a lot neater as it will be on show.. Two foot plate thingys chopped and welded together to make a wide one. The strange cut out needs to be filled, but I might need that hole for the pedals so it can stay for now. And the view of WN which always makes me grin like a Cheshire cat on happy pills

1 pointLooks like I've done it again, tonight I've just purchased the beavers predessor, a Hydrochief Solite. About twice the size of the latter, yet only gives out the same power. It's a good job that its so rare otherwise I'd of simply told the seller to f*#k off and got back in the van. I've never had a deal that someone has had such a bad attitude!! Photos to follow on the weekend.

I think the biggest problem was the weather, if it had been raining Pam would have stayed indoors -
1 pointWell just to say we got it in the barn on Monday using a friends loader tractor. No we did not drop it, did not want any more parts falling off!

Bolens G14
meadowfield reacted to slf-uk for a post in a topic
This is exactly how I got addicted to Bolens. We do have a big problem in the UK with the small number of Bolens tractors available and this forum does have a large number of guys that like other brands, especially the red brand. As such, can I suggest we keep this as a secret otherwise they will all try a Bolens, get the same addiction and we will all be chasing a very small pool of tractors. I would also hate to see the other brands of GT's being left under hedges unloved and rusting away. The pool of Bolens just got a little smaller as I have just agreed to buy another one more details to follow after I pick it up, which hopefully is Friday. Iain -

My O&R Display
pmackellow reacted to usedtoolman for a post in a topic
The attached picture shows my O&R display at one of the local shows the summer before last. I have added a number of units since then and will be posting some of the more interesting ones in the coming weeks. I am a returning member. I was on the old Forum but am just returning after getting locked out when the forum moved last year. -
1 pointThis morning I was asked about the engine. Tonight it has found a new home, where I know it will be cared for and appreciated.

1 pointHere's a manual. Comes as a folded booklet so some views are upside down an sideways but it can be printed and folded if you want one to go with your engine ChickenPowermanual.pdf
